Our Expertise Planning Advocacy
Advocacy:   News     Events     Publications     People     Offices     Links     FAQs

The provision of advocacy services is an important element of the work undertaken by the Planning team. Our extensive advocacy and public inquiry experience enables us to advise and assist clients in obtaining orders, authorisation and consents under a variety of statutory provisions, principally where objections or appeals are dealt with by way of public inquiry. Members of the team have significant experience of appearing as advocates at public inquiries into planning appeals, called-in applications, local plans and UDP's, compulsory purchase orders, highway schemes and compulsory wayleave hearings.

The advocates within the Planning team are able to work closely with our clients and their professional advisers, whilst maintaining an overview of the inquiry process and assisting witnesses in the detailed preparation of their evidence. They are familiar with the issues raised by a wide range of development proposals and regularly work with planning consultants, landscape architects, chartered surveyors, noise consultants, archaeologists, ecologists and other professional disciplines.
